Brain Imaging - Pet Scans |
Brain Imaging Studies usually involve either a PET Scan
or MRI Scan. The MRI scan does NOT use any radiation, instead
the MRI scanner uses magnetic fields to takes pictures of
your body. The MRI will take images of your brain that show
which areas are working when you think. For these studies,
you lie inside the MRI scanner for approx 1 hour, and are
asked to perform mental tasks while the scanner takes pictures
of your brain at work. |
